Amelia Thrift Store

Needed: recycled paper grocery bags and plastic bags of all sizes

Established in 2009 by community members selling only donated items and staffed only by volunteers, by 2025 the store has given away away more than $325,000 to help meet community needs, plus hundreds of coats, shoes, jeans and books.

Now in it's third location, the store added a modular unit known as the Furniture Barn in 2020. And in 2024 we expanded again! We have three buildings on the same property: the original Amelia Thrift Store and its new siblings: the Clothes Barn and the Furniture Warehouse! Come and shop all three!

The community is very generous with donations and it takes a large effort by volunteers to sort, clean, repair, price and display the items for sale. Community service workers are accepted from the court systems and we can document hours served by high school and college students looking for community service opportunities.

HOW TO DONATE

Amelia Thrift Store accepts all donations in good working condition.  Furniture and appliances are in high need. Clothing should be clean and in good repair.  Items can be donated 24/7 by placing them carefully out of the weather under our'Carport' donation area as far inside as possible. When the area is full, please leave items in front of the carport or beside it but only if they are resistant to weather damage. Clothing, bedding and more that are affected by rain can be brought during open hours and volunteers can help donors place them inside, out of the weather. We deeply appreciate our donors generous gifts and we thank you.
